Polls Show Danger for Democrats
According to a recent Quinnipiac survey, former NFL star and Heisman Trophy winner Herschel Walker has 81 percent support in the GOP primary and a lead against Democrat Sen. Raphael Warnock.
Walker receives 49 percent of the vote in a hypothetical Georgia Senate race, while Warnock receives 48 percent.
Walker is popular with voters, with 42 percent favoring him, 27 percent opposing him, and 30 percent saying they haven’t heard enough about him.
Walker has collected roughly $10 million in his bid to beat Warnock in the November midterm elections, with the help of Donald Trump.
Buzz about Walker began in earnest last March when President Donald Trump gave him a boost.
“Wouldn’t it be fantastic if the legendary Herschel Walker ran for the United States Senate in Georgia? He would be unstoppable, just like he was when he played for the Georgia Bulldogs, and in the NFL. He is also a GREAT person. Run Herschel, run!” Trump urged.
