Zulieka Baysmore – Republican nominee for delegate MD-40 in 2022 and Baltimore mayoral candidate in 2020 – is searching for her son, Anthony Johnson, who has been missing for almost two months.
Johnson, who is a vulnerable adult with traumatic brain injury (TBI), walked out of his home on March 10th. He had just been on a Tele Med appointment with his mental healthcare therapist at Medstar Union Memorial Hospital Community Center. His conversation with the therapist allegedly upset him, causing him to flee. Anthony’s parents have not seen him since, but has been spotted by neighbors in the area three times.
He has been off of his medications for 7 weeks and is vulnerable. His mother, Baysmore, filed a missing persons report on March 26th, fearing he may be confused and unable to find his way back home.
Johnson was hit by a car while walking home from school during his second year at the University of Maryland’s Smith Business School. He was comatose and diagnosed with TBI.
Baysmore says she is constant contact with Baltimore City Police Departments Missing Persons Unit and shared a missing person post on her Facebook page; over the past six weeks, the post has had over 4,000 views and hundreds of comments.
Baysmore says, “At this point, I feel the need to get our local news media involved to have more people on the look out for our son Anthony and to call 911 and/or us if they spot Anthony.”
Anyone with information concerning this case or the whereabouts of Anthony Johnson should contact Baltimore Police at (410) 396-2411 or his family at (443) 741-5748.
