We love history here at NRN.  It’s kind of our thing as we love to look back at the foundations of our nation, the moments that defined us whether good or bad, recollect on what was built so as not to tear away at the foundations but build upon them, and then ensure that more people can add onto what was already set.  You can sit and mull over semantics about the Founding Fathers all you want to but they all had one common understanding, which was an understanding of the necessity of God as the foundational principle of how America is built.  Ideas such as government should only recognize rights because rights do not come from government but a higher moral authority above that of human instituted governments.  American government and politics is a marriage of the morality of Jerusalem and the philosophy of Athens.  It stemmed from British common law and was perfected in the Constitution.  So when we utter the words of our Pledge of Allegiance, it’s not to a flag, but allegiance to the recognition that we are under God, the Author and Perfecter of the Christian faith and it is Judeo-Christian principles that have governed the way we do things.  So, if you’re an atheist or a Buddhist, too bad!  That is the history and you can take it up with God.

Chipping Away

Interestingly enough, it appears as though in the name of politically correct appropriateness, the Judeo-Christian identity seems to be eroding.  Such erosion of the values we attest to such as “Thou Shalt Not Steal” or “Thou Shalt Not Murder” and “Thou Shalt Not Covet” are supposed outdated principles.  Yet it was Thomas Jefferson who said that this nation and the Constitution therein are for moral people.  So when we see erosion of such morality, then it’s tossed into the fecal pile of postmodernism, is it any wonder you see different values spring up from one generation to the next?  We can trace it all back to the Left.  So now, God doesn’t really mean much.  Jesus is simply just another figurehead in the pantheon of other figureheads.  Nothing remarkably different about Him as He’s just another guy along with Buddha or Mohammed.  In fact, God is what you make of it to the point that you can be God.  But we will not dissect the theological presuppositions of the veracity of the Christian perspective on Who God is, but just know that morality has been relegated to be nothing more than a “social construct” and in the name of “political correctness”, God is ejected from social interaction.

Acts of Omission 

The beauty of America is that according to the Constitution, the call for America is to seek the wellbeing of all.  So come one, come all, assimilate to these values and be considered American.  ALong with that comes knowing what the Pledge of Allegiance says.  But just in case you are pulling a Joe Biden, with “oh you know the thing!”, let us remind you:

“I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America
And to the Republic, for which it stands, one nation
Under God, indivisible with liberty and justice for all.”

Now we can argue night and day about the original script and the rendition we know today is an update from Eisenhower, but clearly this version has been canonized as the Pledge itself and to go against it is basically a nod to going against what America is about.  But America will embrace your different values provided you don’t supercede the Constitution.  If you’re Hindu, sure, bow to Vishnu and do what you do.  Try to reach nirvana as a Buddhist.  Pray those prayers five times a day as a Muslim.  Go to church if you’re an Evangelical Christian.  But recognize your citizenship is in America and American ideals based on the Constitution is what you have pledged your livelihood to and for.  So when a DNC caucus event opens with the pledge and they don’t use the Eisenhower version that has been canonized to which we all adhere to, it paints the Democrats in more of the anti-Americans we are all seeing them become. 

Let’s be real, when it comes to making a moral nation full of moral people and you’re trying to convince people you’re the best moral choice, don’t pick Bill Clinton as your opener and let him talk about the improper usage of the Oval Office when we all know what Godless things he’s done in there.  Also might not be a good idea to let the VP nominee speak about morality when she has been alleged to have slept her way to the top as a side chick of a married man.  It just doesn’t bode too well to omit the very One  Who is believed to have authored the morality on what we built our nation on and these types of folks are your star players.
