Mandatory Vasectomies Suggested by a Democratic Oklahoma State Representative

A state legislator in Oklahoma is calling for people to help design a bill targeting young men.

In response to stricter abortion laws in Oklahoma, Rep. Mickey Dollens wants to require men to have vasectomies. The new abortion legislation, once passed into law, will guarantee legal protection to newborns from the moment they are conceived.

Other conservative states, in addition to Oklahoma and Texas, have or are working on pro-life legislation.

Bills have been introduced in several other states to stop or almost end abortions.

In an attempt to make abortion laws look extreme, Dollens said, “I would invite you to co-author a bill that I’m considering next year that would mandate that each male, when they reach puberty, get a mandatory vasectomy that’s only reversible when they reach the point of financial and emotional stability.

If you think that’s crazy then I think that maybe you understand how 50 percent of Oklahomans feel, as well,” the Democrat said.
