Lindsey Graham Goes All-In After Joe Biden Reveals First Name From Supreme Court Shortlist
South Carolina Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham said he would back Joe Biden’s idea to appoint a black woman to the Supreme Court.
Graham is a Big Fan
According to USA Today, the White House has verified that US District Court Judge J. Michelle Childs is on Biden’s shortlist of candidates to replace retiring Justice Stephen Breyer.
Childs has been a member of the United States District Court for the District of South Carolina since 2010. Childs is backed by House Majority Whip James Clyburn, D-S.C., a close associate of Biden’s administration.
Graham said, “Here’s what I’ll tell him and the nation. I — I can’t think of a better person for President Biden to consider for the Supreme Court than Michelle Childs.”
Graham Needs to Endear Himself to Voters
Graham is increasingly unpopular among Republicans and his enthusiastic support for Biden’s nominee would not endear him to voters.
