Former White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders announced Monday morning that she is running for governor in Arkansas.
In her announcement, Sanders called governors the “last line of defense” against the progressive left and their damaging agenda.
Before her time in President Donald Trump’s White House, Sanders worked for various U. S. Senators and governors and on several political campaigns. She also served in the U.S. Department of Education during George W. Bush’s administration. She’s a published author, with her first book released last fall.
Sanders, 38, and her husband are the parents of three young children. She’s the daughter of political commentator, former presidential candidate, and former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee.
She was only the third woman and the first mother to serve as Press Secretary. If elected in 2022, she will be the first female governor in Arkansas history.
