Clarence Thomas Issues A Warning About The Supreme Court’s End

Following the surprise leak of the Supreme Court’s majority draft judgment to overturn Roe v. Wade earlier this month, the nation anxiously awaits a final ruling.

The court has not supplied answers, although some conservative Justices have expressed worry about the long-term consequences of the leak.

Associate Justice Clarence Thomas cautioned that leaks might jeopardize the credibility of the Supreme Court.

Losing Trust

Thomas, a George H. W. Bush appointee and one of the court’s most conservative members, said the leak has caused his colleagues to regard each other with suspicion.

“When you lose that trust, especially in the institution that I’m in, it changes the institution fundamentally. You begin to look over your shoulder. It’s kind of like infidelity that you can explain it, but you can’t undo it,” Thomas said.
