Due to illegal votes, a judge has overturned an Eatonville, Florida, election.
Nearly two years after Democrat Tarus Mack was declared the winner of an Eatonville Town Council election, a court has ordered him to resign due to evidence revealed by his opponent that votes were cast or purchased fraudulently.
Eatonville is a central Florida city near Orlando.
Lawsuit Brought By Opponent
Mack’s opponent, Marlin Daniels, filed a lawsuit to challenge the results of the election.
His attorney, Christian W. Waugh, said, “There were both illegal votes as well as fraudulent votes cast in this election. And for those familiar with local politics, that was not a surprise.”
