NYC, Washington DC, Seattle, WA and Portland, OR are “Lawless Zones”
On Wednesday, the President notified the various Federal agencies to report any expenditures to the four top “lawless cities” on his list to the Office of Management and Budget (OMB). He did this as not to reward these cities for allowing crime to rise while defunding their Police. Host to recent rioting and arson during “peaceful protests”, these places are run by administrations that refused to authorize their own police to re-establish order. They also failed to call on their state governments for help to do so.

He did this as not to reward these cities for allowing crime to rise while defunding their Police. Host to recent rioting and arson during “peaceful protests”, these places are run by administrations that refused to authorize their own police to re-establish order. They also failed to call on their state governments for help to do so.
Governor Cuomo of NY immediately responded with an insulting barrage when faced with the loss. The other states expressed similar reactions, as if they can do what they like and Uncle Sam should tolerate lawlessness. Cuomo’s responses were the most entertaining, however.
Others have chimed in with the recent unrest in WI as well. Cities have a responsibility to provide law enforcement services for their citizens. In the name of Political Correctness and racial justice appeasement, they refused to do so. Businesses were burned down, some never to reopen. People were assaulted, some were killed, all for their political views.
In another city, some of these miscreants tried to kill and chase down a young man with weapons. The young man was protecting life and property, while providing basic medical assistance to all that needed it. He reluctantly used his own weapon to defend his life, killing two of his attackers and wounding another. He is the one being crucified by the media, not the attackers.
Will the Cities Change?
The proper response to losing this funding, which is not required but the cities are used to, is to re-empower their police to enforce the Rule of Law. Will the Democratic administrations of these cities respond accordingly? Maybe, though likely they will pass the funding deficits along to the citizens and businesses in the form of higher taxes. This accelerates the flight of people capable of paying taxes out of those cities, making the problems worse.
If they truly are acting on deeply-held beliefs on social justice issues, and really believe they are doing the right things, they will accept the lower funding. Of course there seems to be ulterior motives. It is no surprise to anyone that many are counting on a Trump miss-step in handling the “protests” to sway votes over to the DNC ticket (whomever will be on it). Like Milton’s description of Lucifer, they would rather rule in Hell (burnt-out cities, looting, murders) than serve in Heaven (Trump second term).
