Cuomo Signs Historic Abortion Law

After an intense debate for and against the proposal, the New York state Legislature has passed a bill to legalize abortion on Tuesday. It passed with a 38-28 vote along with a thunderous applause in the state Senate chamber. In New York, it is now legal for doctors to perform abortions up until birth for any reason. Other healthcare professionals, including midwives and physician’s assistants, are also permitted to perform the deathly procedure.

It is completely different to believe that a woman has a right to murder a fully formed baby right up until it is about to be born!

New York did not allow abortions after the third trimester (24 weeks), prior to Tuesday’s legislature, unless the life of the mom was in danger. Prior to that, abortion was punishable up to seven years in prison. This new bill codifies federal abortion rights guaranteed under the 1973 Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision and removes abortion from the state’s criminal code.

Gloria Steinem said in a statement released by the governor’s office, “This power has been taken away by patriarchy and racism, sometimes disguised as religion, yet [abortion] is our most basic democratic right. Steinem’s statement continued, “I’m thankful to Governor Cuomo and the New York State legislature for passing the Reproductive Health Act.”

Reproductive Health Act or Anti-Trump Act?

The Reproductive Health Act, also known as the Abortion Act, seems to be a direct action of the Trump #resistance. “We have a president who’s made it very, very clear that he wants to overturn Roe v. Wade,”  state Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins said at a news conference ahead of the vote Tuesday, according to the Albany Times Union. “Today, here in New York, we are saying no. We are saying no, not here in New York. And we’re not just saying no. We’re saying that here in New York, women’s health matters. We’re saying here in New York, women’s lives matter. We’re saying here in New York, women’s decisions matter.”

It is one thing to buy into the notion that a woman has a right to choose what to do with “a clump of cells” in the first few weeks of an unexpected pregnancy.

However, it is a completely different thing to believe that a woman has a right to murder a fully formed baby right up until it is about to be born!  

Yet, that is what Governor Cuomo, Planned Parenthood and the ranks of feminists have mandated into law and celebrated in New York.

Cuomo Celebrates by Turning One World Trade Center Pink

The governor of New York did not just celebrate evil. In fact, he flagrantly celebrated their evil by lighting the World Trade Center pink, wearing a pink tie, and even popping champagne bottles. Again, he was celebrating killing babies.

Let that sink in.

Nevertheless, that is your Democrat Party in America now. They celebrate death.

What is the world coming to?  Can we deny anymore that there is a war raging in America between good and evil?

Governor Andrew Cuomo dug in his heels today, defending signing a law legalizing abortion up until birth while lashing out at Catholic bishops, some of whom increasingly speak of his future excommunication.

“The Catholic Church doesn’t believe in a woman’s right to choose…I understand their religious view,” said Cuomo in a WAMC radio interview, adding, “I’m not here to represent a religion.”

Cuomo says he won’t legislate Catholic doctrine, as Holy war between Governor and Cardinal stretches into the second week.

However, it is not just Catholics who are sickened by this evil government overreach. It is anyone that understands biology and agrees that all life deserves a chance. Anyone in touch with their soul and humanity.

Above all the real question is, will common sense and middle America stand for this?  It seems pretty clear which team celebrates life, and which one celebrates death. Moreover, it seems that the borders we thought existed controlling the evil nature of the left, do not exist anymore.  What will America do about that?
