OpenAI CEO Sam Altman on Monday launched “Worldcoin”, a cryptocurrency initiative which features a “global digital passport” that will be tied to a Universal Basic Income (UBI).
Worldcoin, created by San Francisco and Berlin-based Tools for Humanity, aims to install “orbs” around the globe that scan an individual’s irises to establish the user’s unique identity, and then issue a “World ID.”
At that point, a digital currency token called WLD will be issued, which the company says will be tied to an “AI-funded UBI” that will be paid out to users just for “being human.”
In other words, the company promises free WLD cryptocurrency tokens in return for submitting to its global digital ID system — what could possibly go wrong?
Worldcoin has already reached 2 million users, and is currently expanding its global orb deployment to 35 cities in 20 countries.
Altman claimed that the global economy will soon be shaped by generative artificial intelligence.
“People will be supercharged by AI, which will have massive economic implications,” he told Reuters. “We think that we need to start experimenting with things so we can figure out what to do.”
Worldcoin was noted to contain all the elements of a future totalitarian currency structure touted by the World Economic Forum and central banks akin to their Central Bank Digital Currency agenda.

Looks like it’s a combination of a global digital ID, crypto currency, AI and UBI? (See below)

Notably, OpenAI’s popular chatbot ChatGPT was found to harbor a left-wing bias.
Furthermore, the Worldcoin developers in a May interview couldn’t elaborate on how exactly the WLD token would be distributed, which drew a lot of online criticism and comparisons to defunct cryptocurrency exchange FTX.

It’s a bit ironic that it’s called Wordlcoin, but they can’t say shit in the US because of ReGuLatIon, aka being
an unregistered security all the way.

The launch of Worldcoin comes amid news a U.S. Senate committee will deliberate a new bill proposal that would introduce an online ID.
