Thriving Black Market

It is true. Close to 40 million American citizens Social Security numbers were unlawfully used by illegal aliens to get hired for work in this country between the years 2012 – 2016. This information was documented by the Immigration Reform Law Institute who was quoted as saying that during those years “there were 39 million instances where names and Social Security numbers on W2 forms did not match the corresponding Social Security records.” It is a true “thriving black market,” the group said.

On September 11, 2018, Fox Carolina reported a court decision where six illegal aliens, out of Columbia, South Carolina, had plead guilty on such a charge. The U.S. Attorney there, Sherri Lydon, stated that six men, three from Honduras, three from Guatemala, had pled guilty to one charge of fraud each. They had used the Social Security numbers to get health insurance.

Each man faces up to five years in prison for this charge. It is not known at this time if there will be other charges filed, such as insurance fraud. After their time is served, they will receive a free ride home. That may be Honduras or Guatemala; either can be arranged.

Children’s Social Security Numbers Especially Sought

The Immigration Law Reform Institute was also quoted as saying, “The Social Security numbers of young children are especially sought by illegal aliens, as this theft is likely to go undetected for years. As children reach late teenage years and apply for credit for cars, student loans, and other needs, they may find that their credit has been compromised with mortgages, credit cards and criminal records attached to their identities.”

“This investigation shines a light on the depth of America’s problems as a result of allowing illegal aliens into the country,” stated Dale L. Wilcox. “It also debunks the idea that being in the country illegally is a victimless crime. Millions of Americans, in many cases children, are having their identities stolen to enable even more criminal activity.”

“Camber Lybbert thought it was a mistake when her bank told her that her daughter’s Social Security number, issued by the U.S. government, was on their files for two credit cards and two auto loans, with an outstanding balancing of over $25,000. Her daughter is three years old.”

Five Months of Scrambling

This is one of the sad stories of illegal aliens stealing and using children’s Social Security numbers, as reported by the New York Times. It took that poor little girl’s family approximately five months of scrambling to clean her credit history for her. The culprit was captured. He had apparently stolen the little girl’s number to land work.

The culprit then used it to obtain two credit cards and two car loans. Loads of fun for him and his family, no doubt; not so much for the Lybbert family, though. People have had bankruptcy filed under their number as a result of it being stolen, again, by an illegal alien. The list of these stories goes on and on.

Build That Wall

Summed up, there are approximately 1.4 million illegal alien workers using someone else’s Social Security number. These are numbers which they misappropriated to get work. There is no way to know where they will take it from there, or what other crimes they will commit with them.

This is yet another issue caused by aliens coming into this country illegally. They cost the U.S. millions of dollars, and that is not even mentioning the cost to citizens personally. America must have a wall to slow this flow of illegal aliens down in order to get a grasp on who these felons are and take measures to prosecute and deport them. First, citizens must support President Trump. Demand that Congress build that wall.
