Disgraced former FBI Director James Comey dismissed the Durham Report’s explosive findings in an interview on Tuesday, claiming “there’s always going to be mistakes” by the bureau.
Special Counsel John Durham concluded the Department of Justice conspired with the Hillary Clinton campaign and the Obama White House to frame Donald Trump with a phony narrative that he “colluded” with Russia to steal the 2016 presidential election.
“In complex investigations there’s always going to be mistakes. It doesn’t mean the FBI isn’t competent, honest and independent,” Comey said on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.”

“In the main, the FBI did it the right way during a very difficult time in 2016.”
This is classic Comey gaslighting. The Durham Report conclusively found the FBI’s investigation into Trump was a politically motivated hit job.
Comey knew from the beginning that there was never a legitimate basis to open the “Crossfire Hurricane” investigation into Trump before the 2016 presidential election.
But for years, he perpetuated the false Russia collusion narrative by appointing special counsel Robert Mueller to investigate Trump in 2018 and held numerous interviews delighting in speculating about the debunked “pee tape” falsehood.
The Durham Report also found that the FBI demonstrated favoritism with Hillary Clinton when she faced criminal allegations herself.
“Durham noted that the FBI showed a completely different approach to allegations involving the Clinton campaign,” constitutional scholar Jonathan Turley wrote after the report was released earlier this month.
“The Trump investigation was a ‘noticeable departure from how it approached prior matters involving possible attempted foreign election interference plans aimed at the Clinton campaign.’”
“Nevertheless, former FBI Director James Comey would continue to reference the entirely unsupported ‘pee tape’ in interviews,” Turley added.
President Trump fired Comey in 2018 in the wake of reports he was leaking classified information to the mainstream media to damage Trump, which sparked the years-long Mueller witch hunt.
