A trio of off-duty U.S. Marines were brutally beaten by dozens of ‘teens’ during a confrontation in Southern California over Memorial Day weekend, according to reports.

The shocking incident unfolded just before 10 p.m. on Saturday night in San Clemente, a seaside city in Orange County.

The men, who are reportedly stationed at nearby Camp Pendleton, said they were walking along the beach when they encountered a large group of unruly youths setting off fireworks and intimidating pedestrians.

When they asked the teens to stop, the situation spiraled out of control.

Video footage of an ensuing mob assault has been circulating on social media.

The Marines can be seen walking as a crowd yelling profanities pursues them.

Suddenly, a suspect sucker-punches one of the men in the head.

The victim turns around and charges the teen, sparking a melee.

At least two of the Marines were knocked to the ground, where they shielded themselves as the mob stomped, punched, and kicked them while hurling racial epithets and pouring drinks on the victims.

“We told them we were Marines so they would leave, but they didn’t. They just kept going at it,” Hunter Antonino told KCAL News.

The victims refused medical attention at the scene but suffered facial injuries and possibly at least one concussion.

“This is considered an assault with a deadly weapon because of the amount of suspects we are investigating,” said Orange County Sheriff’s Department Sgt. Frank Gonzalez.

“The weapons that were used were their feet while these victims were on the ground. So, regardless if the victims choose prosecution or choose medical attention the sheriff’s department is going to investigate this to the fullest and try to determine who the suspects are.”

An investigation is ongoing.
