The 2020 election season is in full swing. Over a dozen Democrats have already announced their plans to run for the highest office in the land. Today, in a video on his Twitter page, Cory Booker added his name to the list. If 2020 is anything like 2016, this election season is going to be vicious. The question you have to ask yourself is: Can Cory Booker survive the first election of the #MeToo movement with a #MeToo past? Time will tell.
Where the #MeToo Movement and Cory Booker Meet.
During the Kavanaugh hearings, Senator Booker wasn’t shy about his disdain for the now-Supreme Court Justice. During the public hearings he railed against Judge Kavanaugh and anyone who didn’t believe the unfounded claims of Christine Blasey-Ford. “You are either complicit in the evil, you are either contributing to the wrong, or you are fighting against it.” Booker found Judge Kavanaugh unfit for the office simply because he had allegations of a sexual nature levied against him. The truth of the case simply didn’t matter. Quite the precedent being set by the Senator from New Jersey.

Cory Booker
For a man so quick to condemn, Cory Booker has his own skeletons. As the investigation and eventual nomination progressed for Judge Kavanaugh, a story buried in the past was brought back to light, but not against the Supreme Court nominee. Fox News and many other news outlets released reports that Cory Booker was the one with an admitted sexual assault on his record, not Judge Kavanaugh.
In 1992, Senator Booker wrote in the Stanford Daily Newspaper how he groped a female friend on New Year’s Eve in 1984. Booker spoke blatantly of his conquest and the tune of the ‘Top Gun’ theme in his head. After the fact, the young lady whom he assaulted realized a scary facet of the story. The following week, she admitted that she was drunk and didn’t know what was going on that night. How can a man be so self-righteous in condemning Kavanaugh of sexual assault despite the lack of evidence while he himself admits to being guilty of that very crime? The hypocrisy flows deep within this man.
Is Cory Booker Already Unworthy of the Office?
Cory Booker condemned Judge Brett Kavanaugh and drug his good name through the mud. He tried to make the case that due to an uncorroborated story from the past, Judge Kavanaugh was unfit and unworthy of the Supreme Court. However, the same man believes that he should be a prime contender to be our next President, Commander in Chief, and leader of the free world. If unproven allegations deem a man unworthy, don’t admitted crimes ring out all that more loudly? How can he believe that he deserves this opportunity?
Instead of Condemning Him, the #MeToo Movement Praises Booker.
The #MeToo movement has changed the culture of American politics (arguably for the worse, but that is for another article). The movement (and the leaders within it) have decried President Trump, Brett Kavanaugh, and countless other men without evidence. They have made destroying them their primary objective despite any proof of guilt. The question has to be asked, however: “Why does Cory Booker get a pass?” If we must “believe all women” and take every allegation seriously, what are we to do with a man who admits to doing the very thing we rail against? As with many on the left, the hypocrisy of the #MeToo movement shines brightly. Instead of condemning Booker, many of the movement’s leaders shout his praises as an “ally” to women. What a joke. With allies like that, who needs enemies?
Anyone who has watched the career of Cory Booker realizes that there are hundreds of reasons that he should never be President. His proposed policies are Barack Obama 2.0. That alone should make him an outcast, but in today’s Democrat party that is the standard. However, his hypocrisy in dealing with Judge Kavanaugh in light of his own past should truly give voters pause, even among Democrats. Cory Booker, by his own standard, is unfit for the Presidency. It’s time to sleep in the bed you made, Senator.
