A 13-year-old suspect has been charged with second-degree murder in the fatal stabbing of a fellow middle schooler during a dispute aboard a bus in New York City last week, according to reports.
The shocking incident unfolded at around 2:20 p.m. on Friday in Eltingville, a neighborhood on Staten Island.
The victim, identified as 13-year-old Syles Ular, got into a quarrel with his assailant in a possible gang-related confrontation aboard an MTA bus, according to the New York Post.
“Witnesses state there was an argument on the bus, a knife is produced, and gang signs were being shown back and forth,” NYPD Chief of Patrol John Chell explained at a press conference on Friday.
Ular was reportedly stabbed multiple times in the chest and collapsed on the bus after notifying the driver he was having trouble breathing.
The suspect fled the scene and tossed the weapon while on the run, authorities say.
A retired NYPD officer who happened to be in the vicinity reportedly followed the teen and executed an arrest after a witness alerted him about the stabbing, Chell explained.
“We believe this motive possibly is gang-related,” Chell asserted.
The suspect has been charged with second-degree murder, manslaughter, and criminal possession of a weapon, according to court documents reviewed by the Post.
According to ancient history, religion, mythology, and occult tradition, they are not human.
