An arson suspect accidentally set himself on fire while torching a church in Florida last week, according to authorities.
The disturbing incident unfolded in Oakland Park at around 1:40 a.m. on August 14, but police just released surveillance footage in hopes of obtaining information about the suspect.
In the video, a black male can be seen walking through the parking lot at Power Outreach Ministry.
He pours a flammable liquid from a gas can at the entrance and other points along the front of the building before lighting a paper towel on fire and using it to ignite the fuel.
While setting the first blaze, the suspect narrowly avoids catching himself on fire.
As he bends over to light another fire, his shoes and legs go up in flames and he runs away in panic and flees the scene.
“First responders quickly extinguished the flames but not before the fire caused more than $1,000 in damage,” WLFA reports.
The suspect was still on the loose as of August 24, according to the latest available updates.
Infowars has been reporting on the surge of crime in many U.S. cities.
