Authorities are searching for ‘juveniles’ who stormed a school bus and tried to shoot a student onboard before pistol-whipping him in Maryland this week, according to reports.

The shocking incident unfolded on Monday afternoon in Prince George’s County.

Just before 5 p.m., police were alerted about an assault that had taken place on a school bus in Oxon Hill.

“The bus had just stopped at Iverson Street and Sutler Drive to drop off students. While stopped, the three suspects boarded the bus and began to attack the victim who remained on the bus,” the Prince George’s County Police Department (PGCPD) explained in a statement.

“The victim is a juvenile male. One of the suspects displayed a handgun and attempted to shoot the victim multiple times but detectives believe the weapon malfunctioned. Ammunition was recovered from the bus.”

PGCPD released surveillance images of the hooded and masked suspects along with a request for helpful tips from the public.

The vicim was treated for minor injuries.

“This was an attempted murder, plain and simple. Call it what it is,” bus drivers’ union chief Martin Diggs told WJLA.

“They pulled the trigger three times, but for some reason, by the grace of God, the gun didn’t go off and bullets flew out of the gun.”

Diggs says the driver involved, as well as other drivers, have been traumatized by the episode.

“They’re terrified. The one driver does not want to come back to work. They’re terrified. They don’t even want to come out of the house,” he said.

An investigation is ongoing.
