Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy has vowed to deploy U.S. troops to secure the U.S. southern border if he is elected to lead the nation. 

Border Patrol agents are now apprehending more than 10,000 illegal aliens every day and many thousands more are slipping into the country unchecked. 

The Biden border crisis is expected to grow exponentially worse in the days and weeks following the expiration of Title 42 on Thursday night.

“The managerial class in D.C., with Biden as its pawn, now spits in the face of the rule of law itself. 14k illegal immigrants will now cross our Swiss-cheese southern border *daily* as Title 42 now ends,” Ramaswamy tweeted on Thursday.

“I will use the military to secure the border without apology. This is shameful.”

Ramaswamy shared footage from a campaign event this week during which he fielded a question from an attendee concerned about the ongoing border catastrophe.

“What we need to do is set a hard precedent for un-utilized troops, where they are stationed, to station them, by default, on our southern border,” Ramaswamy said.

The Biden regime recently ordered 1,500 troops to the southern border ahead of Title 42’s expiration, but their mission will be to perform ‘administrative tasks’ rather than prevent migrants from invading the U.S.

Soldiers will “fill critical capability gaps, such as ground-based detection and monitoring, data entry, and warehouse support” for 90 days, according to Pentagon spokesman Brig. Gen. Pat Ryder.

“Military personnel will not directly participate in law enforcement activities,” Ryder said. “This deployment to the border is consistent with other forms of military support to DHS over many years.”

Border Patrol estimates at least 700,000 migrants are currently in shelters in Mexico awaiting the expiration of Title 42 this week.
