A robbery suspect was neutralized by an armed store clerk in Georgia after a high-speed pursuit that began in Florida last week, according to authorities. 

The harrowing incident unfolded at around 3:30 a.m. on Friday in Palm Coast, FL. 

A “black male” entered a Circle K shop and demanded the cashier give him all the money in the register, the Flagler County Sheriff explained in a statement. 

The suspect fled with $90 cash and some merchandise and a chase ensued on I-95 after police were notified about the stick-up. 

The suspect raced across the state line into Georgia where Camden County Sheriff’s deputies picked up the pursuit. 

The vehicle came to a stop after hitting a spike strip laid on I-95 at which point the suspect took off on foot. 

He ran into a nearby convenience store, pulled a firearm, and demanded the clerk hand over his car keys. 

“The suspect then took the clerk’s vehicle and started to flee but then crashed the vehicle through the front of the convenience store. The suspect then exited the vehicle and chased the clerk and a customer through the store and a struggle ensued,” police said.

“The clerk, who was now armed, shot the suspect approximately 8 times according to Georgia authorities.”

The suspect, identified as Qwinntavus Kwame Jordan, was taken to hospital in critical condition.

At the time of crime spree, there was already warrant out for Jordan’s arrest for an armed robbery last month in Coffee County, GA.

“I commend our Real Time Crime Center team for quickly developing suspect information and his vehicle and thank all the agencies that assisted in apprehending this armed and dangerous fugitive,” said Flagler County Sheriff Rick Staly.

“I also commend the Georgia store clerk that put a swift end to this dirtbag’s crime spree. If he survives his injuries, he should spend a long time in prison.”
