Authorities declined to intervene as a mob of violent thugs looted a gas station in California over the weekend, according to reports.

The disturbing incident unfolded during the early hours of Sunday morning in Compton.

Hundreds of ‘youths’ swarmed an Arco gas station during a ‘street takeover’ as masked and armed suspects smashed their way into the shop and proceeded to steal thousands of dollars of merchandise.

Footage obtained by local media shows the terrifying scene as suspects bashed glass windows and stormed through the entrance, grabbing alcohol, food, condoms, and other items.

The shop clerk reportedly hid in a bathroom while the siege took place.

The Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department (LASD) told ABC7 they are “currently limited with their staffed personnel” and that deputies “couldn’t intervene with the giant takeover groups for safety concerns” because they were “outnumbered.”

LASD was called to multiple street takeovers that night involving hundreds of youths who vandalized and broke into other businesses, as well.

No arrests have been made, according to the latest available updates.
