2024 Dem Primaries Could Be Entertaining

To add to the amusement level of the upcoming 2024 presidential race two Dems, one former new agey self help guru and one with a serious Dem pedigree, are considered a run against Joe Biden in the primaries.

The guru has slammed Biden repeatedly on several issues and the guy with the breeding is a Dem who is strongly against vaccine mandates. That is quite a distinct position for a Dem.

Whether Marianne Williamson or Bobby Kennedy, Jr. has a chance in hell will depend on a confluence of circumstances that right now don’t seem very apparent. But politics can change overnight.

Williamson recently said, “Apparently Biden’s going to run on a message that the economy is getting stronger. I think that speaks to the disconnect between the analysis of party elites versus the struggle of everyday Americans…We’re being asked to limit our political imaginations — to just accept the low unemployment and low inflation rate, that that is sort of the best that we can get,” she added. “But that is a hollow victory. The majority of Americans are still struggling to survive.” Vague and meaningless. Par for the course for Marianne.

Williamson on the new Dem primary system that shoves Iowa and New Hampshire out of the way, “How can the Democratic Party present itself as a champion of democracy and do something as undemocratic as overtly engineering the primary schedule to make sure that their chosen candidate would win it?” Williamson told Politico. “That is spitting in the face of democracy.” Not bad. In a slim field that message could play.

She ran in 2020 and didn’t make it very far because, well, she’s an airhead. Which should not rule out anything for her in the Democrat Party. She also is sentient. Which makes her far superior to Joe Biden.

Bobby Kennedy, Jr. is a different case altogether. A noted tree hugger and a honcho with the ultragreen National Resources Defense Council, Kennedy also carries a royal name for many older Dems. Of course, anyone with half a cortex knows the Kennedys were the most corrupt family in American history. Basically our version of the Borgias. And his dad, Robert Kennedy, was the worst of them all.

A vicious guttersnipe, Bobby was a snarling McCarthyite turned peacenik who had no greater pleasure than putting the boot into a weak or ethical political opponent. His press-fueled 1968 run for president was a sanctimonious and hypocritical attempt to rebrand Camelot into a Haight-Ashbury philosophy and should have been laughed out of town. But Dem suckers, out of consistent infatuation with the family name, bought it. His murder only further polished the false gleam.

The son is no conservative. But it takes a lot of guts as a Dem to challenge vaccine mandates. He could prove surprising in other areas as well. At least, between Williamson and Kennedy, the race could be quite entertaining. With Dems, you can’t ask for much more than that.
