The Virginia Democrat Party has filed a lawsuit against the US Postal Service, arguing that the handling of mail-in ballots may deprive thousands of people of their opportunity to vote.

A postal backlog, according to Democrats, could affect up to 300,000 absentee ballots. Officials with the Post Office say they are unaware of any processing or vote distribution delays.
