From Conservative Brief:
CNN’s Jim Acosta once again tried going after a Republican and it backfired in his face.
Acosta interviewed several interviews with Republican Reps. Madison Cawthorn, Jim Banks, and Darrel Issa.
But his exchange with Cawthorn, the 25-year-old Republican rising story from North Carolina who is partially paralyzed and confined to a wheelchair.
“What are your thoughts on associating yourself with the former president after he gave that speech on January 6th and provoked an insurrection at the capitol? Why associate yourself with him?” Acosta snidely asked Cawthorn.
“Well, I think, Jim, you and I both know that I disagree with that assertion; the premise is that he invoked an insurrection,” the freshman congressman replied.
“I think he spoke at a rally. What happened on January 6th is despicable, and people should be prosecuted that broke the law. I don’t think there was any provocation from anybody that spoke that day,” Cawthorn added.
“But he had been telling the big lie for weeks and continues to lie about the election,” Acosta asked. “Why not find another standard-bearer for the party? Maybe you could be a standard-bearer for the party.”
“I do look forward to being the future of the Republican party, but I think Donald Trump is leading the way on that. You and I know that we have a complete disagreement. I do believe the election was stolen …”
Acosta then cut off Cawthorn and spoke over him: “You still believe the election was stolen?” to which Cawthorn repeated, “I still believe the election was stolen.”
“Where is the proof of that? It was all rejected by the courts,” Acosta demanded to know.
“I believe the judicial system failed us,” Cawthorn replied in a calm manner.

Acosta tries to make everything about himself.
Donald Trump was in Texas last Wednesday alongside Texas GOP Gov. Greg Abbott held a few events together before the 45th president was visiting the border in the Rio Grande Valley.
When Trump was walking on stage, Acosta rudely shouted at Trump to ask if he will “apologize” for the incident at the U.S. Capitol on January 6.
The crowd did not appreciate the question and began booing the CNN reporter.
Trump’s response was also fitting: he didn’t even acknowledge Acosta.

Earlier in the day, Trump highlighted Joe Biden’s apparent cognitive dysfunction, stating that Biden would not be able to ace a cognitive test if given one.
“Anyway, but he has done a really good job. So — and there’s my doctor right over there. My doctor. He said, ‘You know, sir, if you want, you’re really smart, you would have taken the cognitive test.’ I said, ‘What’s that, Doc Ronny,’ right? Now we call him Mr. Congressman. What a job you’ve done, Ronny. They went after him and it didn’t work out too well,” said Trump about former White House physician Dr. Ronny Jackson, who’s now serving as the U.S. representative for Texas’ 13th congressional district.
“The Democrats went after him like you wouldn’t believe,” added Trump, referring to the Democrats’ criticism of the physician. “But he did a test. Did I ace it? I aced it.”

“And I’d like to see Biden ace it,” Trump quipped. “He won’t ace it. He’ll get the first two. There are 35 questions and the first two or three a pretty easy. They’re the animals. It’s just a lion and giraffe. When he gets to around 20, he’s going to have a little hard time. I think he’s going to have a hard time with the first few, actually.”
Trump’s mockery of Biden’s mental faculties is not unfounded as Rep. Ronny Jackson led a group of 14 Republicans a letter this month urging him to take a cognitive test to prove his mental fitness. At the age of 78, Biden is currently serving as the oldest person to be elected into the Oval Office.
“We believe that, regardless of gender, age, or political party, all presidents should follow the precedent set by former President Trump to document and demonstrate sound mental abilities,” Jackson and his GOP colleagues wrote in their June 17 letter to Biden.
“The American people should have absolute confidence in their President,” they wrote.
“They deserve to know that he or she can perform the duties of Head of State and Commander in Chief. They deserve full transparency on the mental capabilities of their highest elected leader. To achieve this, we urge you to submit to a cognitive test immediately. We implore you to then publish the test results, so the American people know the full mental and intellectual health of their President, and to set an example for all Presidents to follow going forward,” they added.
