With the recent turnover of documents, GOP leaders should consider the immediate impeachment of several high-ranking Democrats, including President Joe Biden, former Secretary of State John Kerry, Attorney General Merrick Garland, and FBI Director Christopher Wray. Allegations of bribery, misuse of influence, and a subsequent cover-up have rocked the political landscape, prompting demands for accountability and justice.
The focal point of these allegations revolves around the purported involvement of Biden and Kerry in a bribery scandal with a Ukrainian oligarch, as well as their connection to Rosemont Seneca, a prominent investment firm formed by the sons of the two officials who were high-ranking Obama officials at the time. According to Republican Congressman James Comer, evidence suggests that both Biden and Kerry engaged in illicit activities that compromised their integrity and potentially violated the law.
‘Serious allegations’
Congressman Comer recently wrote “…the Department of Justice and the Federal Bureau of Investigation possess an unclassified FD-1023 form that describes an alleged criminal scheme involving then-Vice President Biden and a foreign national relating to the exchange of money for policy decisions. It has been alleged that the document includes a precise description of how the alleged criminal scheme was employed as well as its purpose. We cannot ignore these serious allegations that taint the highest offices in our nation.”
The allegations concerning Biden and Kerry center around their alleged acceptance of bribes from a Ukrainian oligarch, with Rosemont Seneca serving as a conduit for these transactions. Although specific details regarding the alleged bribes remain murky, the seriousness of the allegations cannot be understated. The financial details first emerged through a subpoena of Hunter Biden associate and Rosemont Seneca partner Robert Walker.
Additionally, Attorney General Merrick Garland and FBI Director Christopher Wray face accusations of covering up these crimes. The House Oversight Committee has been investigating these accusations, but the FBI had refused to turn over the FD-1023, citing concerns about ongoing investigations and potential national security implications. The document was only turned over when it was clear the committee was set to hold Director Wray in contempt of Congress, avoiding the contempt vote by mere hours.
Numerous Dems in hot water
The document, which the FBI has withheld, is believed to contain vital evidence that could shed light on the alleged bribery scandal involving Biden, Kerry, Rosemont Seneca, and several members of the Biden family. This refusal by the FBI to cooperate with congressional oversight has only intensified calls for the immediate impeachment of Garland and Wray.
Congressman Margorie Taylor Green held a press conference after viewing the document and stated, “Reading this form today shows the pure distinction. This source that came forward is a paid informant by the FBI…” and went on to describe the payments from the Ukrainian Burisma Oil company to Hunter Biden and several accounts controlled by the Biden family.
Republicans should move now to impeach Biden, Kerry and any officials involved in the cover up. A special committee should be formed to immediately begin peeling away at this coverup and demand to know who the decision makers were behind it.
However, it is important to note that these allegations are still under investigation, and no one knows how far down the rabbit hole this will go. Watergate and the Lewinsky dress both had administrations that worked to keep documents and records out of public eye but those leaned upon executive privilege. No privilege exists here and the Supreme Court of the United States has already said any document(s) that implicate the President or Vice President of a crime are not protected by the privileges of the office. The stalling by the DOJ alone makes this more dubious than the other two because high ranking officials had proof of a crime.
Baseless political maneuvers?
Democrats, on the other hand, have criticized the impeachment calls as baseless political maneuvers aimed at delegitimizing the current administration. They argue that the allegations instead come from a hard drive obtained by Republican former Mayor Rudy Guiliani.
As the debate surrounding these allegations continues, the American public finds itself at a crossroads. The question of whether these allegations warrant impeachment proceedings are without question. America is not a banana republic despite the moves by the Attorney General.
Ultimately, the truth must prevail, and a thorough investigation and transparency is warranted. The DOJ is not committed to transparency so Congress must force it themselves.
As the impeachment debate unfolds, the Democrats are put in a difficult decision. In the coming election, several senators will find themselves facing voters if impeachment articles are brought. Several of these senators come from swing states.
Senators such as Sherrod Brown of Ohio, Kyrsten Sinema of Arizona, Tammy Baldwin of Wisconsin, Joe Manchin of West Virginia, Jackie Rosen of Nevada, and Bob Casey of Pennsylvania may find themselves having to defend a vote over a President who accepted a bribe.
In the end, the American people deserve transparency, accountability, and a government that serves their best interests. No more cover ups!
