New Kid on the Block

Just in case you missed it, there’s a new kid on the block. She is getting a lot of attention in DC and the media. She’s young. She’s vibrant. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has long brown hair, deer doe eyes, and a toothy smile. She seems very innocent- but she isn’t.

She is a freshman representative from New York. With barely a few months on the scene, she has managed to galvanize much of the Liberal media’s attention and that of Congress. It is a feat even life-long politicians haven’t been able to do.

The attention gained is not because she is saying much or what she says has any weight. Rather, she has is the privilege of being born and growing up during the era of social media. In addition to this birthright, she is a Latina woman, as well as an unapologetic socialist millennial.

Ocasio-Cortez along with a thousand other millennials will be voting in huge blocks in the 2020 elections. Noting here, that is if they know what voting is and can manage to peel themselves off their parents’ basement couch to get to the polls.

“Couch dwellers” will take grievances society told them they have, to the polls. What exactly are these grievances is anyone’s guess. It may be anything that makes them feel uncomfortable, unsafe, mistreated, and not free is a starting point guess.

None of it makes sense. It’s not supposed to. These millennials grew up thinking the world wronged them the moment they were born. Some even blame their parents for not asking them if they wanted to be born.

Facts Over Feelings

Because of their feeling of being wronged, they have ideas to be compensated. Compensation is in the form of: We must listen to them and follow their lead for they have all the answers to solve the worlds’ problems. Never mind that they don’t know anything about anything or have not many life experiences. They aren’t supposed to at this stage of their lives.

She seems very innocent- but she isn’t.

The entire premise of Ocasio-Cortez and the millennials who support these concepts are nonsensical. Somehow, however, having convinced a giddy media and a few others on the Left that they should be heard, they are given a platform. To say the least these empty-heads, want to rule the world. They are dangerous and are becoming dangerously famous. Re-enter Ocasio-Cortez.

The congresswoman has a huge social media following of 3.5 million and a growing number on Instagram. She, like many other millennials, don’t know what they don’t know. But they think they know it all.

For example, Rep. Ocasio-Cortez recently introduced a Green New Deal proposal which is supposed to save the world against climate change. Parts of the proposal has provisions to end air traffic and use of automobiles. This would be killing off entire industries in favor of trains and bicycles.

The plan seeks to redo building codes with green buildings. In essence, all existing buildings would need to be torn down. The proposed bill also addresses flatulent cows, as they are wreaking havoc on our climate, according to Ocasio-Cortez.

No-Substance Attention Seeker

With her fame, the congresswoman has managed to get weak Democrats on The Hill to buy into her ridiculous high school dream plan. Ordinarily, the Mainstream Media (MSM) would have done its due diligence and called her and her plan ridiculously stupid, but they won’t.

MSM fear her and the clueless minions who follow her. After all, with one social media message, she could potentially instruct her followers to stop watching or listening to the media. She could also ask them to vote against a House Democrat who isn’t on board with her Green New Deal. She admitted to taking names and making a list.

Scared Off Amazon

It doesn’t stop there. The New York congresswoman recently applauded Amazon’s decision not to open a second headquarters in the borough of Queens, New York. Read that fact again. The decision was made after a month of push back from so-called civic and community leaders. There go the jobs.

Per the online publication Democrat and Chronicle: “All told, it took about $3 billion to attract one of the wealthiest companies (Amazon) in the world to Queens: New York City is set to provide $1.3 billion in tax breaks on top of the state’s incentive package.”

The article continued, “Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s office estimated it would provide a revenue boost of $27.5 billion total for the state and city over the next 25 years.”

This would have translated into 25,000+ (high income) jobs coming to town, revitalization of neighborhoods, and a continued upswing of the communities economy. In addition, more funding for schools and training for local residents to get the jobs Amazon was bringing.

Upon hearing the news of Amazon, Ocasio-Cortez infamously suggested that the city could now use the $3 billion for schools, infrastructure, and other social programs. Someone needs to tell the economics graduate from Boston University it doesn’t work that way. The city doesn’t get the money if Amazon isn’t setting up shop as it was a tax break incentive.

Not Knowing Hurts

All of this coming from a woman who has the advantage of going to good schools. One would have thought she in turn got a good education. If her education is indicative of the returns one gets on higher education we are in trouble. Clearly, she and other millennials don’t know what they don’t know. And what they don’t know is that they have been grossly miseducated into thinking they are entitled, society owes them a debt, and we must listen to them.
