Special counsel Jack Smith may indict former President Donald Trump once again, this time over his fundraising efforts following the 2020 election.
According to CNN, Smith’s office has expanded its investigation into Trump’s efforts to raise money to challenge the Democrats’ 2020 election fraud.
From CNN:
Special counsel Jack Smith is still pursuing his investigation into efforts to overturn the 2020 election a month after indicting Donald Trump for orchestrating a broad conspiracy to remain in power, a widening of the probe that raises the possibility others could still face legal peril.
Questions asked of two recent witnesses indicate Smith is focusing on how money raised off baseless claims of voter fraud was used to fund attempts to breach voting equipment in several states won by Joe Biden, according to multiple sources familiar with the ongoing investigation. In both interviews, prosecutors have focused their questions on the role of former Trump lawyer Sidney Powell.
According to invoices obtained by CNN, Powell’s non-profit, Defending the Republic, hired forensics firms that ultimately accessed voting equipment in four swing states won by Biden: Georgia, Pennsylvania, Michigan and Arizona.
The Biden regime is trying to punish Trump and Powell for her nonprofit hiring a forensic investigator to inspect the voting machines in the swing states where issues were reported.
Last month Fulton County DA Fani Willis likewise indicted Trump and 18 associates, including Powell, for trying to inspect voting machines in Georgia.
Smith last month indicted Trump related to January 6 on 4 charges; conspiracy to defraud the United States, conspiracy to obstruct an official proceeding, obstruction of and attempt to obstruct an official proceeding, and conspiracy against rights.
Smith had also indicted Trump on 37 federal charges in June over his retention of classified documents at Mar-a-Lago.
Smith handed down three more superseding charges against Trump last month over the classified documents case, claiming he tried to delete Mar-a-Lago security footage.
Despite the flurry of criminal charges against Trump carrying a maximum sentence of 700 years in prison, his approval numbers within the GOP have actually risen in the following weeks.
“Right now you’re seeing a Donald Trump-dominated race and Donald Trump is getting stronger,” CNN political director David Chalian admitted Tuesday.
