Employing the original theme of I Fought the Law, music by Sonny Curtis of the Crickets, and popularized by the Bobby Fuller Four in 1966, here is my creation, I Fought the Clock.
I Fought the Clock
by Jeff Davidson
I’m chasing time and I’m on the run,
I fought the clock and the clock won,
I fought the clock and the clock won.
I tried time management and had no fun,
I fought the clock and the clock won.
I fought the clock and the clock won.
I tried so hard to do it all,
I guess my race is run.
I’d better take a new path before I fall,
I fought the clock and the clock won,
I fought the clock and the clock won.
So I left at five and had fun,
I found some breathing space and had fun,
I found some breathing space and had fun.
I got complete about what I’d done,
I found some breathing space and had fun,
I found some breathing space and had fun.
I diminished my piles and I feel so glad,
No reading race to run.
The last few days are the best I’ve had,
I found some breathing space and had fun,
I found some breathing space and had fun.
