Tony Kinnett, an investigative columnist with The Daily Signal, has a new nightly talk radio show on WIBC-FM (93.1) in Indianapolis.
“The Tony Kinnett Cast,” set to debut Monday evening, will air weekdays from 7 to 8 p.m. EST. In addition to the radio show, which also will be livestreamed, a video podcast version may be seen on WIBC’s YouTube channel.
Kinnett, a resident of Greenfield, Indiana, becomes the youngest host of a daily show in the radio station’s 85-year history.
“I’m honored to bring a show to Hoosiers and the nation on this historic station,” Kinnett said.
“After a tumultuous few years in which we’ve seen the corruption and censorship of legacy media, I’m thrilled to be a part of the momentum replacing a worn-out and dishonest sham with something fresh and honest,” The Daily Signal writer said. “I look forward to sharing our hard work with those tuning in on the air, catching the livestream, or listening to the podcast later.”
Kinnett, a former public school teacher and administrator in Indiana, joined The Daily Signal in December 2022.
“We’re excited to have Tony become a regular on the airwaves. He’s shown with his viral social media videos that he has a unique voice that audiences love,” said Katrina Trinko, editor-in-chief of The Daily Signal.
Kinnett has broken several stories, including one on a gay elementary school teacher in California who was suspended for disagreeing with the school district’s administration on its promotion of transgenderism and another that focused on an Indiana teacher who shared sexually charged content with a student.
Kinnett also traveled to Hawaii to do on-the-ground reporting following the devastating wildfires on Maui.
Kinnett, who founded the education news site Chalkboard Review, previously wrote for National Review, The Federalist, The Daily Caller, and the Washington Examiner before joining The Daily Signal.
He founded Chalkboard Review as a platform for teachers and parents. The website’s reporting on education forced Anderson University to stop holding racially segregated sessions on “inclusivity” for campus students.
Kinnett began doing guest segments on WIBC in 2021 when he began to expose the teaching of critical race theory in schools across Indiana and the country. He became a regular guest on the station’s shows, and then a guest host.
In February, when Abdul-Hakim Shabaz ran for mayor of Indianapolis, Kinnett filled in for him for 12 weeks on Saturdays from 1 to 3 p.m.
In addition to his investigative work, Kinnett launched the successful Twitter parody account “Ministry of Truth” (@USMiniTru), which initially mocked the Biden administration’s attempted but quickly abandoned Disinformation Board, which officials argued was designed to counter misinformation.
Kinnett received two master’s degrees, in education technology and curriculum development, from Ball State University. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in science education from Maranatha Baptist University.
With the addition of Kinnett, WIBC said, the radio station will be “all local” from 6 a.m to 8 p.m.
