Armed carjackers trapped a terrified driver and stole his vehicle at gunpoint on a busy street in Chicago, according to reports.

The incident unfolded in the Wicker Park neighborhood of the Windy City at around 3:20 p.m. on September 2, but surveillance footage has just been made public.

An Audi A4 sedan with its lights on was sitting in a non-moving lane of North Western Avenue, video shows.

Suddenly, two vehicles approached from the opposite direction and swerved across the road to block the front and rear of the Audi.

At least three suspects jumped out and “displayed handguns and demanded the victim’s vehicle,” Chicago police told the New York Post.

The victim was dragged out of his car, forced to the lie in the road, and frisked by at least one suspect.

The suspects then piled into all three vehicles and sped away as the 27-year-old victim jumped up and ran to safety.

“No injuries were reported, no offenders are in custody and [detectives] are investigating,” Chicago police spokesperson said this week.
