Audience Applauds After Justice Amy Coney Barrett Puts Female Heckler in Her Place
During a recent event in California, Associate Supreme Court Justice Amy Coney Barrett put a female heckler in her place in, leading to laughter from the audience.
Barrett was a featured guest at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley on Monday. She was asked by Frederick J. Ryan Jr., chairman of the library’s board of trustees, what she and her family went through when she learned she was in the running to replace retiring Justice Anthony Kennedy by then-President Donald Trump.
Heckler and Witty Response
As Barrett began describing her experience, a member of the audience suddenly yelled out, calling the Justice “an enslaver of women.”
Not missing a beat, Barrett said, “Fortunately, as a mother of seven, I am used to distractions — and sometimes even outbursts.”
Barrett also talked about some cases being considered by the high court.
