‘It’s Up To The People’
The newly elected Republican attorney general of Virginia is urging the United States Supreme Court to overturn Roe v. Wade.
Virginia joined 21 other states in petitioning the Supreme Court to strike down Mississippi’s 15-week abortion restriction and overrule the court’s 1973 Roe v. Wade ruling.
Restore Judicial Neutrality
“It is Virginia’s position that the court’s decisions in Roe and Casey were wrongly decided,” Jason Miyares wrote, referring also to the 1992 decision in Planned Parenthood v. Casey. “The court should restore judicial neutrality to the abortion debate by permitting the people of the several states to resolve these questions for themselves.”
Another champion for life, Sen. Josh Hawley of Missouri, argued last month that Roe v. Wade is the biggest injustice of our generation.
