On Monday, Attorney General Bill Barr authorized an investigation into allegations of voter fraud.

Days after many media outlets declared former Vice President Joe Biden the President-Elect, Barr’s move allows the Department of Justice to look into widespread examples of fraud.

On Tuesday, a top DOJ official resigned. Richard Pilger was the director of the Elections Crime branch of the DOJ, a position he had held since 2010. The same day, acting undersecretary of defense James Anderson also resigned; his departure was not unexpected after clashing with the White House on policy. Defense Secretary Mark Esper was also ousted this week by President Donald Trump.
