UK Prime Minister Stricken with COVID-19
According to BBC and The Guardian, Prime Minister Boris Johnson was hospitalized Sunday. Very recently doctors transferred Johnson to the intensive care unit. Sadly, the condition of the Prime Minister, a true American ally, has worsened. Johnson was hospitalized Sunday and tested positive for the Chinese Virus otherwise known as COVID-19.
When initially admitted to the hospital, Johnson said in a tweet “On the advice of my doctor, I went into hospital for some routine tests as I’m still experiencing coronavirus symptoms,” Johnson wrote in the tweet. “I’m in good spirits and keeping in touch with my team, as we work together to fight this virus and keep everyone safe.”
Since then, however, things have seemingly made a turn for the worse. A statement released to the public read: “Since Sunday evening, the prime minister has been under the care of doctors at St Thomas’ Hospital, in London, after being admitted with persistent symptoms of coronavirus. “Over the course of this afternoon, the condition of the prime minister has worsened and, on the advice of his medical team, he has been moved to the intensive care unit at the hospital. The statement continued “The PM is receiving excellent care, and thanks all NHS staff for their hard work and dedication.” According to news reports Johnson is conscious at this time.
Prime Minister Johnson is friends with President Trump and like President Trump shares a more populist worldview. Boris Johnson has been admament in his support of Brexit and won in a landslide in 2019 elections.
