Democrat’s Lament and Realists Question

In the 2020 election, you can expect that one of the biggest attacks on President Trump will be an attack on his “worthiness” to call himself Christian. Democrats will bring up his affairs, his business dealings and his brash way of speaking. All this while simultaneously ignoring the award he was given for racial justice, the people he has helped when they were in need, the mugger he stopped and fact that he cares for his children well. The problem we see with the question of “How can a Christian Vote for Trump?” is that it attempts to present the argument that a person cannot be forgiven for their past.

It was once said that if every Christian acted like Christ, there would only be Christians in the world.

We are not to judge people on their “worthiness” to be a Christian, as only God can do that; however, we need to assess people by who they are with (1 Cor 5:11-13) and by their actions (Matthew 7:16). It is also important to note that in the Bible, it is always the adversary or evil person who accuses. Even St. Peter and the other apostles were admonished when they accused others. Now we must look at those who are accusing the president and saying that he is not worthy of Christ’s love.

Please note that this article is not condemning the people mentioned, just pointing out that those of us who have sin should not declare others unworthy of Christ’s love. Both political parties have problems with moral law. We have a congressional fund where taxpayer money is used to silence accusers of sexual harassment. Famous politicos and celebrities are seen as above the law as they flaunt criminal actions and out of country indiscretions.

A Moral Nation

If we are to be Christian, Judeo-Christian or even simply a moral nation, we need to cease electing and supporting people whom we know are criminals or degenerates. Yet each election, politician after politician whose crimes we know about is elected into their “safe” congressional seat. Each week, we see billions of dollars go into the coffers of the newest Hollywood film encouraging immoral actions like shootings, indiscriminate sex, and hate- all the while the funds from these movies are donated to politicians who decry these things yet do nothing about them.

So as we look at the accusers, let us look to see whether they should be casting the first stone. Once again, we are not challenging their right to complain, nor their right to call out injustice, we only challenge their right to call someone unworthy to be a follower of Christ. To do this, we are going to look at how the Democrat Party of the United States matches up with the Ten Commandments.

Now there is a slight rub here, the Ten Commandments was a debate between St. Augustin and Origen in the 5th Century AD, so Protestants have a different set than Catholics. The way to deal with this is to deal with the passage of the Bible in which they are found, namely Exodus 20. Technically there are 11 Commandments, so we will address each one with the Biblical text, not to keep everyone happy, but because that is how it is written.

Separating Government From Our Christian Roots

Exodus 20:4– “I, the LORD, am your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, that place of slavery. You shall have no other gods before me.” While there are conspiracies out there saying certain people worship other Gods, we do have records of the Democrat party showing that they are separating government from our Christian roots:

1.) Democrats Booed God at the 2012 Democratic Convention. This was an outright disgraceful action by the party delegates at the 2012 DNC convention. While not all attendees participated in this action, there was a large crowd participating who could be heard on the microphones.

2.) Democrats Heckled Pastor placing a blessing on Hillary Clinton. If the actions of the 2012 convention were not enough, the rowdy crowd at the 2016 DNC heckled a pastor who was doing the convocation.

3.) Democrats declared that Christians were not suitable for public office. We all remember when Sen. Diane Feinstein insinuated that Judicial Nominee Amy Coney Barrett was unqualified because of her Catholic Faith. This is but one in a long line of efforts to disassociate practicing Christians and Jewish people from public office.

The party of FDR, Bill Clinton and Barack Obama has become the party that would never have let John F. Kennedy become president, because he was a practicing Christian.

The Deification of Celebrities

Exodus 20:4-6: “You shall not carve idols for yourselves sin the shape of anything in the sky above on the earth below, or in the waters below the earth; you shall not bow down to worship them.” While we do not see people in Congress building monuments to Moloch, there is a dangerous trend of deification of celebrities. In early 2019, there was a west coast fad of “votive” candles to a celebrity to which you wanted to pray. Celebrities like Kylie Minogue, Elton John, and Joey Tribbiani were created in the form of Christian votive candles.

Even politicians such as Kamala Harris (dressed as the virgin Mary), Elizabeth Warren (Dressed as Mary Magdalene) and Alexandria Ocasio Cortez (not dressed as anyone in particular) were featured in a May 12th Vox Story. The story even laughed about the blasphemous nature of the candles. Further, we have seen the cult of personality created around some political figures which give them the god like privilege to violate the law with impunity.

What’s in a Name?

Exodus 20:7: “You shall not take the name of the LORD, your God, in vain.” This is a passive example of something that happens a lot. Declaring that you are one with the body of Christ, and then doing something that is diametrically opposed to everything that he stood for is a form of taking the name of the Lord in vain.

Remember, saying “I am Christian” or “I am Catholic”, is saying “I follow Christ”. When a politician says this and then supports abortion, sexual assault, media which is lying to the people or supports any other grave sin, then they are taking the LORD’s name in vain. They are lying to people about their association with God.

A Time to Rest and People to Honor

Exodus 20:8: “Remember to keep holy the sabbath day.” As a society we have fallen far from this. Beyond the debate of whether the sabbath is on Saturday or Sunday, as a people we have forgotten to keep this day holy. Even the movies joke about this as saying “The day that used to belong to God belongs to football now.” This is not one thing that we can specifically hold the Democrats accountable for, this is something that we must hold our nation accountable for.

Exodus 20:12– “Honor your father and your mother, that you may have a long life in the land which the LORD, your God, is giving you.” Family has become one of the chief elements of American, not just Christian, society that liberals are attacking. Socialist philosophers have long stated that if you break up the family, bring sex into a child’s life early and train people that society is the “family unit,” you will be able to control people more readily. This seems to be a major effort of the liberal wing of the democrat party and the Q-TIP movement.

Another astonishing move in this area is the effort to undermine the sanctity of life at both ends of the spectrum. On one end, they are telling young girls that the ability to bring life into this world is a curse, not a blessing. This devalues the whole concept of motherhood on several levels. On the other end of the spectrum, we see the rise in the euthanasia argument, which in turn is seeing more and more people putting their parents to death because they have become a burden, all under the guise of mercy.

Defense: A Deeper Problem

Exodus 20:13: “You shall not murder.” As democrats have clearly staked out their position that they are the party of abortion, there is little argument here that this is a grave violation of this commandment. However, there is a deeper problem of the liberal community embracing a culture of death, both physical and spiritual. Numerous members of teachers unions and social progressive groups have stated that their goal is to indoctrinate students into the liberal, anti-Christian mindset. Teaching children to turn away from God is the gravest of sins, the one that Christ specifically placed a death penalty upon.

Exodus 20:14- “You shall not commit adultery.” I was going to list all the prominent democrats who have been involved in sex crimes over the last 30 years, however this list would be longer than this article would allow (as would be the republican list.) Here are two sources where you can look up some of the famous sex offenders in Washington, some of whom are still in office.

Taxation is Theft, But There’s More

Exodus 20:15: “You shall not steal.” Move beyond the concept that taxation is legalized theft (the reason we put presidents images on our money is to keep within the “render unto Caesar” statement from the Bible). We also need to look at the sheer amount of money that goes missing in Washington.

In 2017, Forbes ran an article claiming that the government “stole” $21 trillion dollars from the American people by spending it without telling us. Further, we remember when Obama gave $11.9 Billion to Iran in unmarked bills on a midnight plane flight in order to secure the nuclear treaty without congress’ (read the people’s) consent.

Finally, there is a Congressional slush fund to silence victims of Congressional sexual assault. It is estimated that they have paid over $17 million out of this fund over the last several years.

Fake News is the Enemy of the People

Exodus 20:16: “You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.” CNN, ABC, NBC, MSNBC, Fox, all of the big news networks are now coming under fire for their “news” not being wholly truthful. But that is not a representation of the party, even though many news networks are acting as the propaganda wing of individual parties.

The main false witness that we are seeing now is a concerted effort by the Democrat party to “shame” all supporters of President Trump, or Republicans in general, as “Racist,” “Bigots,” or many other words in the lexicon used to decry other people. It has gotten so bad that democrat leaders have broken ranks with their party and stated “Trump is no racist.

Recession is BAD

Exodus 20:17: “You Shall not covet your neighbors house. You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, … nor his ox or ass, nor anything else that belongs to him.” The whole resist movement is based on the idea that the Democrats are jealous that Donald Trump won a lawful, constitutional election.

They have tried every trick in the book to stem the success that the president is bringing to the United States. Even talking heads for the party, such as Bill Maher, have called for a recession to break the President’s momentum. Think about it, is there any greater sign of envy than to want everyone to fail so your opponents do not win?

Party Above Faith

There are of course two other commandments that were given to us by God, in the form of Jesus Christ. These commandments are:

Matt 22:37: “You shall love the LORD, your God, with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.” Based on the actions of the last few years, the Democrats have put party above faith and secularism above religion. While every person has the right to chose their own religion in this country, we also must realize that when one of the major political parties of the United States is placing their party goals over other people’s rights, guaranteed in the first amendment, that is when it is time to retire that party.

Religious rights, specifically Judaeo-Christian rights were the foundation of our nation. The further we slip from this foundation, the further our nation falls. And to those who say the founding fathers were not all Christian, they are correct, 2 of the Founding Fathers were universalists. The other 202 were one denomination of Christian or another.

It’s NOT a Woman’s Health Issue

Matt 22:39: “You shall love your neighbor like yourself.” The millions of dead children that litter labs across the country and in the waste bins of abortion centers is a visible cry against the democrat parties love for their neighbors. Yes, they use obfuscation to declare it is a woman’s health issue, but its not; if it were the woman would be the one in danger of dying. Science realizes that an unborn child is a child.

Further, we are seeing more and more democrat leaders tell people to attack their neighbors. Maxine Waters has said not to let anyone who disagrees with the Democrat orthodoxy enjoy life. Numerous mayors have said Trump supporters are not welcome. And we have seen Antifa, the Brownshirts of the Democrat party, throwing lye in the faces of conservatives and attacking children with stun guns and metal pipes.

The Plank and the Speck

Within this analysis, we must also not be the person with a plank in our eye when we try to deal with the speck in our neighbor’s eye. Thus we need to take the time to look at our own Republican party and how we are living a good moral life.

Exodus 20:4: Guys, I love Trump as much as anyone, but we cannot be calling him the second coming or having pastors saying he is God’s anointed to smite the nations. God does not come in a roar, and the second coming is not to be preceded by “good things.” We cannot equate any man except Jesus with God. When we do this we are just as guilty as the Democrats.

Exodus 20:4-6: The U.S. flag should be respected, but some people have gone beyond this and treated it as something sacred in a Jingoistic approach to protecting it. While I agree that anyone who desecrates the flag is a jerk, and that there should be a Flag amendment, it is just a symbol of human success, and we should not worship it. Further, we cannot create a cult of personality around select people. Support your representatives, but remember that they are civil servants- not divine leaders (same with pastors).

Exodus 20:7- “You shall not take the name of the LORD, your God, in vain.” See Box Above.

Exodus 20:8: We are just as likely as Democrats to give over to commercialism on the Lord’s day. If you want a challenge that will bring your family closer together, have one “technology free” Sunday. Take the time to play games, read the Bible or just spend time together. Even better, call in neighbors. The way we fight the hate of the media is by being together.

Exodus 20:12: We tend to do well here, but this also goes toward respecting our elders. This is something that we are losing in our conservative identity.

Exodus 20:13: Life is life, and unless a person is using force in self defense, fighting in a just war or executing a lawfully convicted person, killing is murder. And when we are cheering on a war just to prove a point, we are condoning killing here.

Exodus 20:14: Adultery cuts both ways. See entry on democrats and look at the list of republicans too. If they are in your district, vote them out or step up and primary them.

Exodus 20:15: See entry on government stealing above.

Exodus 20:16: See Above, we have people on our side dividing the nation too.

Exodus 20:17: I am sure there are examples here, but there is nothing glaring other than wanting to buy Greenland.

Faith, Family and Freedom

Just like with the Democrat analysis, we must also look at the two greatest commandments. This teach us how to live in this world:

Matt 22:37: “You shall love the LORD, your God, with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.” We need to keep a moto of Faith, Family and Freedom and remember that this is the order in which we must protect it.

Matt 22:39- “You shall love your neighbor like yourself.” There are millions of people at the southern border who are there because they are desperate. Many are criminals because they crossed the border illegally. We cannot laugh at their plight or make light of it. While we must enforce the law, we need to ensure that they are sheltered in a humane way and are deported as quickly as possible. This is the best way to protect their human rights.

We also need to look at how we think about other countries, while we can put America first, we need to also make sure that we are helping other nations. We do not do this through wasted money on international aid, but on direct personal donations to charities around the world. When we allow the government to do our “charity” for us, we should expect no reward. Forced charity is not charity at all. So today, make a small donation to something that will help other people around the world. Even if it is a dollar, you could be saving a person’s life.

I know discussions like this are hard, but we cannot assess Democrats without turning the spotlight on ourselves. It was once said that if every Christian acted like Christ, there would only be Christians in the world. If all conservatives acted with the moral turpitude we have been entrusted with, then there would be no need for people to turn to the “lesser of two evils” in the Democrat party. We can always be better, and change will always begin with changing your own patterns.
