Jack Meets Donald: Twitter CEO Discusses 2020 Elections

Meeting President Donald Trump

Jack Dorsey did something no one thought he would do today. He met with President Donald Trump. Why? To discuss plans to safeguard social media’s impact on the 2020 elections. Part of their discussion apparently involved the Twitter platform.

This hardly adds to the health of public conversation.

A statement from a spokesperson for Twitter reads “Jack had a constructive meeting with the President of the United States today at the President’s invitation. They discussed Twitter’s commitment to protect the health of the public conversation ahead of the 2020 US election and efforts underway to respond to the opioid crisis.”

Dorsey responded cordially to the president’s tweet, expressing appreciation for the president’s willingness to dialogue about important issues. He reiterated that Twitter was committed to protecting ALL conversation. Naturally, Conservatives are rather suspicious of that statement.

Many Twitter users expressed varying degrees of humor and frustration at the censorship practices Twitter has employed. Many people asked the president if he had addressed the issue of shadow banning and other tactics. The tweet below is priceless for its snark.

Change of Heart?

The question is, will Jack Dorsey have (or has he already had) a change of heart? Many Conservative accounts have either been badly suppressed or have been suspended because of their bent. This hardly adds to the health of public conversation. Many conservatives have collected evidence of many instances where Twitter showed bias against accounts that don’t fit in with their ideology. They have offered President Trump their help.

Is Biden the ultimate embarrassment to our country?*
